Hi kiwi, Yes , I remember the Oxo refresher after a hard winters night swimming and Saturday morning muck about at Bermondsey Baths.
I was an engineer at the Heinke Sub factory along the road and used the baths for testing the SCUBA tanks back off
Navy loan . The hard hat divers equip was tested inhouse in a rooftop tank. If you wanted to know if you had claustrophobia this was
the test to take.
I did some of my BSAC divers courses in the newly formed club at the baths and we had our socials in the pub opposite.
my aim was to qualify for a Shell oil rig job in Aberdeen but after seeing and hearing the blokes who had done the job
I changed my mind and opted for a healthier dry land career . My SCUBA Diving became just a sports hobby.
