Iron Yard was near Cathay Street and roughly opposite the Angel Pub.
Rotherhithe Street
Re: Rotherhithe Street
I remember this café; it was called Mays, John & May I think owned it.
This was Near to the Amos Estate and the Bulls Head & Half Moon Pub, opposite Bellamy’s Wharf. If I remember right the café was called after May who made bread pudding and sold it in the café.
I think that someone in the family went on to run The Queens Head in Paradise Street.

Here is a picture of the battle cruiser itself that I have stumbled across while trying - and failing - to work out where the cafe in Kiwi’s post above once stood. The Half Moon and Bulls Head is to the left of view…

Hi GSLondon. As far as I can remember and it is a long time ago, the café was on the other side of the pub. I posted roughly the same picture on page 7, except your car is newer than mine.

Re: Rotherhithe Street
Thanks Kiwi, that helps me to place it. So the entrance to Bury Close now stands roughly where the cafe was. The alignment of the kerb is probably the only remnant that remains from the photo!
Re: Rotherhithe Street
Rotherhithe Street, Redriff Primary School. I believe this was a record, not sure what year. X.
Re: Rotherhithe Street
Today this small street still exists under the name of St. Paul's Avenue.
