Posted here as I know it to be East Lane. My first thought was Johnny Wallington’s stall but I’m not sure. If my memory serves me right, I think there was three toy stalls in the lane,? the one near Orb Street was run by, I think Reg & Beryl.? Does anyone know who is in the picture.

I think the Tomkins family lived in Alvey Street. :?:

Elsie Tomkins, is on the far left as a little girl, picture possibly taken in Alvey Street?? Elsie worked down East Street Market (the lane) with “Nobby” Harry Tomkins. I could be wrong, but I am assuming that Elsie & Harry were married.

I understand that many people don’t like/approve of what went on in those days & I agree but it was part of our history admitted not a nice part but sweeping it under the carpet never helps. At the end of the day the Monkey & Boy were innocent parties, apologies if I have upset or offended anyone with this post.
