Picture states, Major Road, Southwark, c1909. I do have my doubts, as the sign says Hancocks which was in Jamaica Road.
I know Hancocks got permission for a sign in Jamaica Road, I think at number 16.
Maybe someone can confirm, one way or the other.
Jamaica Road/Union Road.

The photo is of Major Works - Jackson's french polish factory in Major Road. Hancock's was at 122 Jamaica Road. I suspect that sign in Major Road is an advertisement and has the Jamaica Road address in the bottom line - the building beneath was a box factory.Maybe someone can confirm, one way or the other.

Children's Club Party, Royal George Pub, Jamaica Road, Rotherhithe, 1954.

I’m assuming this is 1915, WW1, and Union Road is Jamaica Road. Strange that they have put Union Road when I think it changed to Jamaica Road as early as 1900? Was some part still called Union Road.
