Adam & Eve, 47 Swan Lane, Rotherhithe, Surrey SE16 at 33 Swan Lane in 1899. The address is at 47 Swan Lane in 1921 and earlier, prior to street renaming to Swan road. The pub was rebuilt after being damaged by subsidence caused by the building of the Rotherhithe Tunnel (opened 1908)

On the corner of York Place in the 1900s was a pub, which you can see (far corner) unfortunately I cannot fine the name of it. Out of the picture on the right is the Adam and Eve Pub.

Re: SWAN ROAD ROTHERHITHE
My Grandparents lived in Winchelsea Building, the flat in the top right hand of this picture was there’s. I think they must have moved in just after they were built in 1906, as my mum was born there in 1908. Sadly there are no members of my family that lived there still alive so l can’t check the dates with them.
