Edric Hall was built in 1908 and I think was part of the campus of the Borough Polytechnic which was founded in 1892. During the 1914/18 War, it was used to make Gas Masks, from 1940 to 1941 the Polytechnic was bombed five times but continued to provide hundreds of meals a day to the homeless of Southwark during this period. In 1992 it become the London South Bank University 103 Borough Road. Edric Hall was the place where the Trocadero Wurlitzer, Elephant & Castle was from 1979 to 2004.
