Hi all,
What an amazing site this is! I have spent hours looking at all the photos and memories.
I feel like a bit of an interloper as I have always thought of myself as a north London girl, but in researching the family, I find that my great-grandparents were married in 1896 in the parish church of Christchurch Southwark and lived at numbers 20 (George Beecham) and number 28 (Theresa Byrne) Broadwall. When my grandmother was born (1899) they were living at 1 Upper Ground Place. It was in searching Upper Ground Place that I hit upon this site. I also have an idea that they lived for a while at Murphy Street and I am sure my grandmother said she sold lemons to passers-by at Waterloo Station as a child.
Thanks for reading,
Miranda

Welcome to the site Miranda1, glad you are enjoying the site. Kiwi.

Not 1896, so this might not be the number 28 you mentioned Miranda1?
