I worked in Bermondsey as a Consultant for older people for 25 years and have published a novel that is based on a true story about a woman who grows up in Bermondsey during the war. I spent a lot of time exploring the history of Bermondsey, particularly the docks. The book draws on this and what I have been told by the patients that I’ve seen in their homes over the past 2 decades. All profits go to Time and Talents, which I am sure will be familiar to those on this forum.

It’s a fictional novel based on a true story but includes an historical backdrop of the docks and life growing up around them.
