Who remember the horse troughs, (who said NAY).
Had some great fun with these, broke the ice in the winter, got in it in the summer when it was hot and chucked each other in it at other times.

There was one at the entrance to Southwark park (Lower road) that i think was turned into a giant flower pot.

Yep, then climb over the wall at Crosse & Blackwells at night, pick them up again, then take them back again the next day, two for the price of one, it was called initiative, a nice little earner.

There was a TV jingle that went with the advert " I've got a tiger in my tank and if there's any doubt, when I pass you on the road, you'll see my tail hanging out". They also sold/gave away tails to be hooked under your boot lid.

This is something I had forgotten about until I saw this picture, does anyone else remember. ?
The first detector was introduced in 1952, are they still operating now.
- TV licence vans equipped with detectors capable of tracking down those who try to watch TV for free.
