Who remember the horse troughs, (who said NAY).
Had some great fun with these, broke the ice in the winter, got in it in the summer when it was hot and chucked each other in it at other times.

There was one at the entrance to Southwark park (Lower road) that i think was turned into a giant flower pot.

Yep, then climb over the wall at Crosse & Blackwells at night, pick them up again, then take them back again the next day, two for the price of one, it was called initiative, a nice little earner.

We use to go rummaging down the communal bins in Abbey Buildings, Bermondsey and collect as many empty beer/lemonade bottles and return them to the local pub (The Royal George) and was given a penny biscuit for each one! We had to have a bath after that though as we stunk to high heaven

There was a TV jingle that went with the advert " I've got a tiger in my tank and if there's any doubt, when I pass you on the road, you'll see my tail hanging out". They also sold/gave away tails to be hooked under your boot lid.
