Camberwell Infirmary.
This workhouse hospital opened in 1875 and later became St Giles Hospital,closing in 1983. A large circular ward block was listed and still stands,as luxury apartments. Brunswich Square now St Giles Street.

Until I was eight I lived on Riddell Street within walking distance of the now defunct St Giles hospital. I remember being taken there twice for broken bones and also several times to visit neighbors who were ill. I remember being in an OR to have my arm reset. I thought it was exciting but my poor mother did not share my enthusiasm.
