I thought that the ship in the 1950's photo was in Albion Dock, the view being southwards toward the dock wall. The view to the river (in the other direction) would have been blocked by wharfs.

Thanks for that I stand corrected having looked at a map from 1956 you are right the view is into Abion Dock glad to know people are looking and correcting when need be thanks for that

Clarence Street, by York Place, Rotherhithe, 1904. Clarence Street is now Canon Beck Road. York Place (no longer there) ran between the then Clarence Street and Swan Lane now Swan Road.

The street ran from the back of the Albion Yard Surrey Docks to Rotherhithe Street opposite Cumberland Wharf. The hall can be seen in the York Place picture above.
