PROVIDENCE PLACE

Postby kiwi » Wed Sep 13, 2017 4:44 am

There was a Providence Place off Crosby Row in the 1870s. There was also a Providence Place near the Pickford Stables, Borough end, which was off Kent Street later to become Tabard Street c1870. I also think there was a Providence Place near Mill Street around the same time??

Hi, when would this photo have been. My great great great grandfather was living af 14 and 15 Providence Place with his wife and family in 1861. In 1851 he was at Mellick Place. His occupation was leather finisher. Is it then likely he worked at Neckinger Leather Mills. I believe my direct family stayed in Bermondsey until 1930's.
