Re: NEPTUNE STREET/RUPACK STREET
The Neptune pub site ’17 Rupack Street, Rotherhithe. This building sits on the site of The Neptune pub that ceased trading in the early 1990'The original address was 17 Neptune Street but with the building of the Rotherhithe Tunnel in 1908 a lot of Neptune Street disappeared and the small section that remained north of the tunnel was called Rupack Street. "Rupack" means King in what is now Papua New Guinea, dates to 1783/4 when Prince Lee Boo was brought to this country by Captain Wilson.

Re: NEPTUNE STREET.
Now know this to be a Day’s outing to the hop fields, c1930. I don’t think they will be picking many hops dressed like that.

Neptune Street, Bermondsey. The Cock and Monkey public house with advertising sign for Barclays Beer, and vacant sites in Lower Road. On the left is a Methodist Church Hall with a damaged roof, and a billboard advertising hoarding with a poster for Liquid Sunshine Rum. Buildings were later demolished, and site developed for Irwell Estate housing, c1954.

Neptune Street, Rotherhithe in 1987, the Courages Beer Factory Closing Party at the Cock & Monkey Pub.
Re: NEPTUNE STREET.
To the right of the shop, I think is Thetford Place. If I am right, Lower Road is left and Albion Road is right. The first part of Neptune Street, Lower Road end was formerly Coburg Street (c1860).
