Ilderton Road
Re: Ilderton Road
Hi Brian can you help with this, not to sure were it is,maybe Record Street?
Hi Brain, could this be St Bartholomews Church, Barkworth Road. If it is,looking from the yard and the angle I’m making the yard in between Verney Road and Barkworth Road ??.
Not Ilderton Road, Crown Wharf was off Hanlon Street now Oxestalls Street which is off Grove Street, in the background is Deptford Park Primary School, Evelyn Street.

Re: Ilderton Road
Hi Kiwi,
I’ve been pondering over the above picture for ages.... and I don’t think it’s Record Street?.
But that view does look familiar?
I thought at first that the building in the background was Ilderton Road school but, having looked at quite a few pictures, I don’t think it is.
I know the school had quite a bit of rebuilding work but it looks completely different.
When I was a kid, the north side of Record street was mostly rubble and weeds with access to the drained canal.
So, I’m kinda stumped!

Hi Kiwi,
This is the same Ebonestas that was at the end of Rollins Street?
My Nan and Grandad both worked there for many years... Anne and Walter Couzins.
The late May Lloyd had photos of a young Nan and Grandad dressed in their finest, about to board a coach, bound for an Ebonestas beano!
