From the Film, The Password is Courage 1962. London Bridge Railway Station was bombed in World War 2. In the background is where the London Bridge Terminus Hotel was destroyed as was this part of the train shed roof. This was never repaired and when modernised in 1974, this was the site for the Post Office area alongside Platform 13. It was also the reason why platform 14, 15 & 16 were shorter. Picture 1.

London Bridge,Guildable Manor Street directly in front, was called Railway Approach. I worked there in 1958, in one of the arch’s along on the left, Thompsons Sports Shop. Saturday work wasn’t my cup of tea, it meant I missed watching Millwall, so I packed it in. ;)
