The Monster Ready Made & Bespoke Clothing Establishment, Albion House Clothing Comp’y, Branch Establishments, Paris, Antwerp and Ghent, Borough High St, founded at the end of the nineteenth century, the business traded here until 1910.
The Albion House Clothing Co was operating in 1895 from numbers 161, 163, 165 and 167 Borough High Street (where the name "Albion House" was proudly displayed on the façade at number 163).

Charles Henry Harrod in 1824, the for-runner to Harrods (Oxford Street) ran this business, variously listed as a Draper, or Mercer and Haberdasher, certainly until 1831,from the site occupied by Tas Cafe.

Nos. 66 and 68 have been in the tenure of the firm of Edward Strauss & Co., hop merchants since 1893 and the previous occupants, W. H. & H. Le May, were in the same trade.

Tickets refer to the pawning of a sheet by Ann Robinson, of Kent Street. Could this be the Kent Street we now know as Tabard Street. :?:

What is the building in Southwark Street? Is it a cab drivers' resting office? and what of the "Obelisk" on the left-hand side of the picture - in what seems to be the centre of the road.

Looking through the alley entrance across Borough High Street you can see the Old Town Hall Chambers building. This is where St. Margaret's Church was and at that time was called St Margaret’s Hill c 1834.
