Once again we return to the Borough High Street looking at long lost landmarks seen by those on their way to the city. I am sure most of us will remember the Stuart Surridge factory home of the cricket bat in South London.
The factory stood in the Borough High Street, established in 1867 untill being realocated to Burnley Lancashire and is known now as Surridge Sports. Looks as though the original building has gone.

Coaching Inns were a distinctive feature of Borough from earliest times to the end of the 19th century. The arrival of the railways in the 1830s removed much of their purpose, but some diversified and became ticket agents and goods depots. This building was previously the Dun Horse Inn, which ceased trading in the 1820s.
