Re: PEEK FREAN (Free Biscuits)
When we were nippers in the early 60's my mum got a job in Peek Freans. I can remember vividly me and my brother struggling to carry home a huge plastic bag full of broken biscuits over my shoulders on a Friday evening. These were the throw- out biscuits that nobody wanted, but it was our special Friday night treat
Can you imagine my surprise when I was old enough to realise that you could actually buy biscuits unbroken in packages!
Happy days

A set of adverts or trade cards was distributed by Peek Frean's Biscuit Manufacturers. They refer to the postal delivery of a tin of Peek Frean biscuits, c1906.
