Long Lane corner with Staple Street. In the 1950s these shops were Fordham’s and Leatherdale’s bakery. Later still there was a Fish and Chip shop here.

Hi Fogbrain, just like to ask you for a little bit of information regarding Long Lane/Meeting House Lane picture? This is the same picture, combined with another (which I understand is Long Lane) claiming to be both in Long Lane, again from a different site from where I got the first picture.
As we both know claiming to be somewhere on a picture doesn’t mean it is actually correct. Unless of course you recognise the area, shop or pub etc, which then you can change with the right information, otherwise you must assume and go with what is there.
I’m not doubting it could be Meeting House Lane as you say but just reposting the same picture and stating it is somewhere else is not really proof one way or the other which one is right.
It’s good that you pick up on some posts by myself which are not quite correct and I do try and correct it and acknowledge when I am wrong but this can take up a lot of time on my behalf. So, if you can help me out when you notice a post not quite right with a bit more information and proof of why it’s not what it states would be much appreciated and save me a lot of time looking possibly to correct it. KIWI.

FINE FOODS - Locanda del Melo Opened in June 2006, LONG LANE.
The Fine Foods deli at the corner of Long Lane and Wild's Rents came to the rescue and served hot drinks and food to the affected residents of Eleven homes who were left without power on Saturday night after a small fire in a locked electrical cupboard in the 1930s council block in Decima Street. (2012). Nice story, well worth a mention, sometimes it’s not all about money. :D

Bermondsey brightens up her bomb sites.
The Elim cycling Club adopted this elephant type shelter at the bombed corner of Wild Rents and Long Lane Bermondsey. They use it as clubroom, machine shop and starting point for their cycling club c1950.
