Lant Place now Sawyer Street. The pub is on the corner with Southwark Bridge Road and is now called Great Guns Social, formerly known as The Escape and the Goldsmiths Arms. A Dickensian character called Bob Sawyer lived in Lant Street, opposite Lant Place, so it is more than likely that Sawyer Street was named after him. :?: Lant Street was one of Charles Dickens temporary homes.

Lant Place I think is on the left, the sign on the wall looks like Grotto Place? both no longer there. The tall building on the right is possibly part of the Fire Brigade Station in Southwark Bridge Road.?
