In the 1960s and 70s you could get a smashing bacon sandwich there late at night. :D

The Pub with the Watneys sign is the "Alfreds Head”, demolished in 1962.

This is possibly an evacuation photograph, with the people on the way to Waterloo Railway Station. The Isaac Walton Store in view was destroyed during World War II. Next door is the "Rockingham Arms" with the famous clock. Background right is the Trocadero Cinema, and New Kent Road.
