I don't think that's Old Kent Road - look how narrow the road is in the second picture.kiwi wrote:A bit confusing but maybe someone can come up with the answer.
OLD KENT ROAD.

Re: OLD KENT ROAD.
Hi Fogbrain, I do tend to agree with you that this is not the Old Kent Road, but I do believe this to be Grenada Place off the Old Kent Road. I was a bit dubious whether this was the pub in the Old Kent Road at all, especially seeing Winchester Brewery above the pub in this picture. Having checked Winchester Brewery out they mentioned that they did have a brewery in Camberwell (c1899), which I have not been able find, they also supplied several pubs in the London area.
Considering the pub was there from the 1860s to at least the 1920s changes would have occurred during that time.

Re: OLD KENT ROAD.
Not sure how picture one relates to The Half Moon Pub, but that what it states.
Re: OLD KENT ROAD.
Horse and cart. I’ve been reliably informed this is the Old Kent Road.
Re: OLD KENT ROAD.
This was near The Prince Of Windsor Pub.
Re: OLD KENT ROAD.
Picture states Trafalgar Road left. I could be wrong on this, but I think that left is Albany Road with the Thomas A Becket Pub on the corner. If I am wrong let me know and I will correct the post.
Re: OLD KENT ROAD.
Unless Fogbrain says otherwise, I think you’re correct about it being Albany Road, Kiwi. Thanks for the daily dose of nostalgic photos
