Regarding the St Pauls church photo, if you look just to the left of the tree on the right hand side (in the google street view) you can just make out the white finish of the top floor of the 2 storey houses that run along Porlock St.
In the old view, the houses are on the left and you can make out the white upper portion. I think the old photo would have been taken almost outside the pub in Kipling St that faces down Porlock St (The Brittania?).

Kipling St looking towards Guys Hopital photo from around 1930 before the flats were built on the left (and way before the 60s estate on the right). We are standing just before the left turn into Lockyer St (which then turned right towards Porlock St). The turning now leads into the flats. Notice St Pauls church in the distance which stood just opposite Guy St

Kipling Street today Lockyer Street to the left its all change but the shop in a differnt guise is still on the corner

This isn't Kipling Street - you posted photos of that Britannia on 1st July 2017. This one is 144 Southwark Bridge Road.kiwi wrote:Kipling street, The Britannia Pub, c 1900.
