There was an established river station in Bermondsey at 73 Cherry Garden Street in the heart of the riverport. That building has now been replaced but the pier and pontoon still survives. Many of the other waterfront buildings in the area were damaged during the Blitz.

Lower Ordnance Wharf. Francois and Joseph Badart, merchants and seed crushers. In 1861 an accident in the works led to an explosion and ten deaths. They were bankrupt in 1881.
Union Oil and Cake Mills at Lower Ordnance Wharf, started running the mills again for seed crushing.

In c1900s this was called Lucas & Spencer’s Wharf.
- Rotherhithe Street, Apollinaris Wharf. Cherry Garden Pier left, Cherry Garden Street and the other part of Apollinaris Wharf on the right out of picture.

I think this is near to where South Sea Street is today

Discharging deals, battens and boards from the SS 'Portos' at Russia Dock, Rotherhithe. Deal was a softwood timber that was imported to the Surrey Docks.

- A tiny slither of Acorn Pond is occupied by the Russia Dock Woodland park
the rest covered with more housing and the Surrey Docks Health Centre.
