Floating Dock, Rotherhithe, 1815.
Ship building and repairing were Rotherhithe's traditional industry, at least until the end of the 19th century, when ships outgrew the size of the Rotherhithe yards and docks. In the background can be seen the parish Church of St Mary the Virgin.

Fountain Dock, Bermondsey Wall East 1929. looking from the south east corner of the dock, towards the river and the direction of the City.

Bermondsey Wall East 2018, view taken from roughly the same viewpoint. Today there is a fountain in the centre of the green.
