The Star was situated at 256 Borough High Street (c 1908). This pub has now been demolished, with a block of flats now standing on the site.

Been thinking about them years, early forties onwards, before some of our homes had electricity or other facilities come to that. What did we do in the evenings (behave yourselves keep it clean ;) ), I can remember the board games like Snakes & Ladders, Ludo, Draughts, Cards, Crayons & Paint...
