This pub closed in 1940, due to being badly damaged by enemy action. This part of Lancaster Street is now called Gaunt Street.

M. Manze's eel and pie shop, opened in 1892 at 87 Tower Bridge Road, Bermondsey. This was the first of the Manze eel and pie shops and the oldest one still standing.
