We use to go rummaging down the communal bins in Abbey Buildings, Bermondsey and collect as many empty beer/lemonade bottles and return them to the local pub (The Royal George) and was given a penny biscuit for each one! We had to have a bath after that though as we stunk to high heaven :lol: :lol: ...

Not half do I remember these punishment tools!! In my school, St Josephs George Row, Bermondsey, the boys were constantly given the ruler on the palms of the hand for any excuse the nun's could think of.
