The Metropolitan Pub, was situated at 60 Southwark Street
Southwark Street was built in the early 1860s by The Metropolitan Board of Works. Presumably this is where the name for the public house came from. I can’t help thinking the original incarnation was a little bit easier on the eye. Now called The Southwark Rooms, this venue is the type of place commonly hired out by city workers for drinks and nibbles. Plush inside, brutal on the outside. 2016.
Grange Road/Tower Bridge Road Toilets. What is it with these toilets? we seem to have more pictures of them than anything else. Though this is from a different angle, with the Bacon School in the background. Maybe we should pull the chain on any more pictures & say Tood-a-Loo.?
